Jackal
I've now done some research into these, these sites were pretty helpful http://forum.slowtwitch.com/Slowtwitch_For..._frame_P2634406 http://forum.slowtwitch.com/Slowtwitch_For...(Pics)_P2656114 People seem to speak pretty highly of these, my main worry would be the import costs. Even after import duties, it wouldn't be expensive... My worries (and I am watching these at present!) would be a catastrophic failure of frame, forks, or bars! It is very tempting, but the price reflects the element of risk. If there was no risk, it would cost a fortune!! Be a leader... Buy one first, then I'll have a look! Top Tester
Any one own of these? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Carbon-Triathlon-Tim...#ht_7316wt_1165 Looks good and very cheap, my question is will i be riding this one day and all of a sudden it will implode like a spinergy wheel? Has anyone got a review on one? Thanks. I was looking at one of the frames and a pair of the 88 mm carbon wheels in my local bike shop. They were badged up as SL CARBONS and both very nice indeed. Both are excellent quality and easily as good as Planet X . The price on ebay is an absolute bargain. i dont know how much import tax you will pay but they will certainly work out much cheaper. The wheels I saw were 800 quid and the frame 1700!!!!!! Worlds most expensive frame decals!!!!! I cannot believe the amount people who are importing these frames are charging on top of the price direct from China. Now that people are aware of these goods, how people think they are going to sell the stuff badged up with SL Carbons or whatever, I do not know. I for one will deal direct . I need some more wheels and the road frames are an absolute steal at 265 quid.
Jackal
Apparently if you ask them to send it marked as gift, it wont be taxed or have any other charges! Yeah the cycle2infinity is the same as with the Boyd, peoples reviews are positive and so is ebay feed back, these could brake on you but i doubt it, when i do eventually but a tt bike I'll be using this as the frame. rs2000kurt
A mate got one of these frames a couple of months back. It was posted as a sample so no import tax and it arrived within 7 days. So far no problems, not the lightest set up but it looks amazing. Another mate just ordered a road frame from the same seller cos it such a bargain. I had a brief thought about making a comeback ( I would still be crap so whats the point ) and sent an Ebay message to someone who had bought one. He had no problems with the transaction or the frame. Emailed China to ask about Import Duty and VAT etc and they said they normally sent the frame marked as "Sample" and with a "Nominal value" so Customs are not interested. Jackal
The thing that worries me is the built in seatpost so you really need to get the size perfect and height adjustment is minimal
notsofast
The thing that worries me is the built in seatpost so you really need to get the size perfect and height adjustment is minimal I have had some correspondence with the seller of these and they do a non-ISP version as well. For an extra tenner they will throw in a headset too. Email the guy with your questions, he's very articulate and responsive. I'm just trying to justify needing a new frame and the wife would spot it a mile off...
mrriffraff
The thing that worries me is the built in seatpost so you really need to get the size perfect and height adjustment is minimal Are you thinking that if you buy a £1500 frame and cut it short, you could return it then? If you cook up one of these, it's a less expensive cook up!! Are you thinking that if you buy a £1500 frame and cut it short, you could return it then? If you cook up one of these, it's a less expensive cook up!! Hang on. I didn't type "cook" I put c-o-c-k. What if I wanted a discussion about the male chicken? handdracing
Well i really need a change to motivate myself and was really fancying a shiv, trinity or felt but i really cannot justify the expense let alone the being sh1t at tt'ing. So decided upon maybe having a go at one of these, my question is a dumb one....as ever Which is the adjustable seatpost and will it matter? i do not need an adjustable one but one that i can cut to my size. One looks like it is integral to the frame, and the other just doesnt look as good. Is this one a set & fixed height with no adjustment??(if this is set why the alloy clamp?) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Carbon-Triathlon-Tim...4?pt=Road_Bikes And do i presume that this one is the adustable/ easier to cut version?? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Carbon-Triathlon-Tim...2?pt=Road_Bikes help please and yes i know the risks....cheers. I like many on here spend alot of money on bike stuff but the prices of the newer breed of 'Superbikes' is ridiculous...new Felt DA, Trinity, Shiv, Trek Speed Concept...we're talking £3000-£5000 just for a frame! I'd really like any of these and everyone likes free speed gains but I think this is too much...time will tell if the market withstands that sort of pricing I guess. Supply and demand though... If i were buying sensibly again now I'd get a Cervelo P2. If I were buying with all my boxes needing to be ticked (including my illogical ones) I'd put an order in for a Shiv or a Giant. At amateur level, aesthetics, branding and psychology will often carry as much weight.

Jackal
I think the most important thing to remember is that these have probably never seen a wind tunnel and although may look aerodynamic, they may be no more aero than a standard steel tubed frame.
